Common Proficiency Test is an entry level examination for admission to the Chartered Accountancy Course. A 10th Passed student can register for CPT Course by filling in the prescribed registration form along with the requisite fee. A student who has passed higher qualifications than 10th class such as B.Com, M.Com, LL.B., ICWA, CS, MBA is also, in the first instance, to appear and pass CPT Examination to join the Chartered Accountancy Course. CPT Examination is objective type test comprising of 4 subjects which are: - (a) Fundamentals of Accounting – 60 marks, (b) Mercantile Laws – 40 marks, (c) General Economics – 50 marks and (d) Quantitative Aptitude - 50 marks.

The course (PCC) is taken by all trainees during their post-diploma traineeship. It consists of 36 hours of core modules and 18 hours of elective modules and is a skills based course which consolidates and builds on what trainees do in their traineeships.

A compulsory course for the newly qualified CA s and the students in the final lap of their CA studies. Registration for the course can be done well in advance. There will be about 07 batches every year. Normally starts a couple of weeks after the examinations in May and November. It is a well organized course on soft skills and tips on management practices giving a finishing touch to the career preparators of a CA student. Classes are handled by experts in respective areas and the participants are from all over Kerala and the adjacent States. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) conducts Campus Placement Programmes twice an year in various parts of the country, including Ernakulam Branch

100 hours course for a duration of 20 days starts in the first week of every month. There are two batches a month. The morning batch is from 7 a.m. to 12 Noon and the afternoon batch from 12.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. Registration can be done 2 months prior to the course. The intake capacity in a batch is 24. AS per the new scheme, a CPT passed student can join IPCC without Article registration and can sit in the new IPPC Exam after 9 months of registration. Only a passing group-1 of IPCC, a sudent shall eligible to registred with articles which shall now be for a period of 3 years.
